Meet Your Rancher: The Waters Family 

Give a brief description of your farming operation 

We operate a small cow/calf operation that has raised feeder calves to sell at auction and replacement heifers. We are also in the beginning stages of starting a purebred Hereford herd, which will supply show heifer prospects to our two children, Kristin and Grant. 

Why are you passionate about the beef industry? 

I believe in the industry providing a safe and healthy product for us to consume and for the entire world to partake of as well. We take seriously our stewardship of the land and resources we have access to, and strive to leave those resources in better condition than we found them in for the next generation to care for.

What do you want consumers to know about you and your farm? 

We are good, honest, hard working family that are working together to raise our children, provide a good experience for them and our family and provide a living for ourselves in that process. We want to do the right thing for our land, cattle and family. 

What is one of your favorite beef meals or recipes? 

Hands down...medium cooked ribeye steak off of the grill, with all the fixings!
