'BQA Effect' Study
A 2019 study conducted by Colorado State University (CSU) on the Beef Checkoff-funded BQA program showed a significant premium for calves and feeder cattle sold through video auction markets. Results of the study revealed a premium of $16.80/head for cattle that had BQA listed in the lot description.

Missouri FFA Contest
MISSOURI FFA BEEF QUALITY ASSURANCE CONTEST
All Missouri agriculture classrooms are eligible to compete in the BQA contest to win money for their local FFA chapter. The contest will be open from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024.
Step 1: SIGN UP ONLINE
Visit the BQA Learning Center where each student will create their own unique account using their personal email address. Be sure to enter the SCHOOL NAME to be counted! See the special note below for specific instructions.
Step 2: COMPLETE THE CERTIFICATION
Follow along and complete the online modules to receive Missouri Beef Quality Assurance certification.
Step 3: WIN
The school chapter with the most BQA certifications will receive $500 from MFA Feed and Crop Protection Divisions. Missouri Beef Industry Council hopes that winning chapters may develop beef promotion and education efforts in their own communities using the funds. There will be TWO (2) categories of winners awarded: The school with the highest total number of BQA certifications and the school with the highest percentage of BQA certified students (calculated by taking the total number of BQA certifications divided by total chapter enrollment). The pure number of BQA certifications gained between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024, will determine the winning chapters.
*Special Note- Students will need to create their own personal account on the BQA online learning center. We have three courses available; students will only need to take ONE of the courses to become certified. (We recommend not taking all three courses as they are very similar and will be repetitive for students.) Students can create an account with their school email address, however, you will need to make sure your school IT department is aware of our email domain so that our confirmation email and certification email come through. Our email domain is [email protected] We recommend that students use their own personal email address so that they can get these emails. Make sure students fill out the COMPANY/SCHOOL/FARM/RANCH NAME as that is what we will use to be able to get you all the correct information and make sure we’re not missing anyone in each chapter.
