Meet Your Chair
Tracey currently serves as Chairwoman of the Missouri Beef Industry Council. Her main priority is to help drive demand for beef among consumers. Over the last six years as a Region 1 Board Member, she has successfully applied her knowledge and expertise to benefit the beef promotion and education programs. She has also earned NCBA’s Masters of Beef Advocacy certification and is BQA certified.
Tracey has more than 30 years of experience in marketing communications, corporate public relations, nonprofit fund development, and journalism. She has helped create and implement many highly successful public relations programs around the country.
Mershon Cattle has been recognized with the 2019 BIF Commercial Producer of the Year; 2018 Missouri Hereford Association Commercial Breeder of the Year; 2013 Missouri Angus Association Commercial Producer of the Year; and the Mershon’s have been named Farm Family of the Year twice by Jackson County, Missouri.
Tracey has been actively engaged in her local community and statewide organizations for over 30 years. She currently serves on the MU CAFNR Foundation board of trustees and on Centerpoint Medical Center’s board of directors. She has held leadership roles with the Mizzou Alumni Association, Griffiths Leadership Society, Truman Heartland Community Foundation, and Rose Brooks Center.
Tracey earned a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri. She and Bruce are avid sports fans and have been Mizzou football season ticket holders for many years. They are members of the board of directors for the MU CAFNR Foundation and are members of the CAFNR Monticello Society. Bruce and Tracey have three sons and five grandchildren.
“Helping to run a family farm and multi-enterprise cattle operation has given me the opportunity to take on jobs I never dreamed I could tackle,” said Tracey. “Agriculture is a dynamic industry and it’s exciting to be a part of it.”
