Missouri Beef Industry Council Opens Applications for Leadership Position

COLUMBIA, MO | OCTOBER 16, 2026

The Missouri Beef Industry Council (MBIC) is accepting applications for its next Executive Director.

Sydney Long has served as Executive Director since 2022, helping advance MBIC’s mission to promote beef and educate consumers about its role in a healthy diet and Missouri’s agricultural economy. Long will depart the organization to accept an opportunity to serve as staff in the Missouri Senate. MBIC wishes her the best in this next chapter. The organization will continue its ongoing programs and initiatives throughout the leadership transition.

The position offers an opportunity to lead Missouri’s beef promotion, education and research efforts while working alongside beef producers, industry partners and stakeholders across the state. MBIC is seeking a qualified leader with strong communication, management and relationship-building skills and an understanding of agriculture and the beef industry. Ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to lead strategic initiatives, manage multiple priorities and represent the organization effectively.

Key responsibilities include overseeing organizational operations and staff, developing and implementing promotional and educational initiatives, managing budgets and program performance, and building relationships with producers, industry organizations, media and other key partners.
