The Missouri Beef Industry Council collaborates and partners with other organizations and companies in an effort to continue our mission. We have chosen to pursue our mission through the strategies and tactics of our Missouri Beef Industry Strategic Plan Summary. Our fiscal year begins October 1st and ends September 30th.
Fiscal Year (FY) Program Planning Schedule
March/April: During the spring board meeting, staff and MBIC board review the current board strategies to determine priorities for the next fiscal year. MBIC Board sets program priorities.
May/June: Staff begin to formulate preliminary budget plans based on the board's established priorities. Staff sends out requests for proposals based on program priorities.
June/July: Staff receives proposals and begin initial screening for applicability to Act and Order and MBIC Board's program priorities.
July 15: All proposals are due.
August: Staff presents program plans, and/or proposals to Board for consideration and approval. Vendors, with large program proposals, present to Board for consideration and approval. Board approves final budget.
September: Staff develops agreements and contracts with board approved contractors.
October: Staff implements new FY program plan.
The Missouri Beef Industry Council provides grant opportunities for local organizations to conduct promotion and education events in their local communities. The Beef Grant budget is limited and is allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
Beef Promotion Grant
Beef Promotion Grants are available for various local promotion events including radio, health & fitness, and retail demonstrations just to name a few. A more detailed list of qualified beef promotions is included in the application.
Beef Education Grant
Beef Education Grants are available for various education events including classroom presentations, youth field days, and more. A more detailed list of qualified beef education events is included in the application.
