MBIC Program Plan
Top Five Priorities for FY 2009
- Research. Enabling discovery of beef industry enhancements through the
sciences. MBIC is focused on beef safety, beef tenderness, pre-harvest
carcass influencers, and advertising research.
- Health Professional Education. Proactively providing information to
dieticians, physicians, trainers and others who influence consumer diets.
- Retail Promotions. Promoting increased sales of beef at retail by
increasing beef's appeal to consumers. MBIC will work to educate retailers
about beef's value cuts, the Easy Fresh Cooking program and continue
promotion of other new beef product applications in retail stores and
restaurants.
- Education. Providing materials and information for use in schools, 4-H
clubs and other youth programs in order to help young people understand the
importance of the nutritional benefits of beef in coordination with a
healthy lifestyle.
- National Investments. Leveraging checkoff investments by pooling
resources with other states in order to reach more target audience
consumers.
